St. Elizabeth’s RC Primary School, Tamworth

Excel Music Schools have provided curriculum music tuition at St. Elizabeth’s since September 2004 and more recently, instrumental tuition since September 2005.

Having worked at a previous school alongside EMS, I was delighted to again be able to employ the high quality services of this organisation at St. Elizabeth’s.

Instrumental tuition includes woodwind, brass and electronic keyboard with which parents are very pleased with the progress made in such a short space of time.

Curriculum teaching has been focused in KS2 where the children have had the opportunity to perform in two high quality end of year productions produced and directed by EMS.

Music is now a lively, fun and energetic curriculum area within the school and under the guidance and advice of EMS will continue to be appreciated by the children, staff, parents and governors at St. Elizabeth’s.

Stoneydelph Primary School, Tamworth

Since September 2005 all of the teaching for our Key Stage 2 music curriculum has been provided by Excel Music Schools. The children enjoy lessons and their enthusiasm for the subject is evident. The standard of singing in particular is high with girls and boys of all abilities joining in with confidence.

"... the high standard of teaching has also enabled us to perform regularly"

The high standard of teaching has also enabled us to perform regularly for appreciative audiences and all the children take part in seasonal concerts. For those children with a particular interest in the performing arts there is the opportunity to join the after school “Fame Club”. Excel Music Schools have supported this activity and a number of children have been given the opportunity to develop and demonstrate particular abilities, with some enabled to give excellent solo performances.

Excel Music Schools also provide our instrumental tuition. Children have the opportunity to learn to play flute, clarinet, keyboard, saxophone, trumpet & cornet. Teachers are very experienced and reliable and actively encourage all children to aim for the highest standard.

Holy Rosary Primary School, Burton-Upon-Trent

Excel Music School has provided instrumental tuition for our school since September 2003. From September 2005, it has also provided much of our curriculum music teaching. This has had a most outstanding impact and music was recently highlighted as a particular strength in the school both by OFSTED and our RE inspectors.

"... music was recently highlighted as a particular strength in the school both by OFSTED and our RE inspectors"

The high standard of teaching is reflected by the fact that many of our children have either passed or are preparing for grades 1,2 or 3 of the music exams set by the Associated Board Of The Royal Schools Of Music. There are currently over sixty children learning to play musical instruments and these students play regularly during assemblies or to support others within music lessons.

Our summer concert, which has become a tradition within the school, provides a wonderful opportunity for the instrumentalists to join together and perform as part of an orchestra.

The importance of music is recognised and appreciated at the Holy Rosary School and the teaching provided by Excel Music School has helped to develop a sense of excitement and enthusiasm for the subject.
